Love is Timeless: Why I Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Three years ago, my Valentine’s day started at 5 am after a strong contraction woke me up. I was 40 weeks pregnant and anxious to meet my baby boy. As I paced around my bedroom, I held a watch to help me monitor my contractions. They were coming closer together and that made me feel incredible excitement in the midst of so much uncertainty.

With icy roads and a snowstorm that shut down my southern town, it was apparently not the best day to have a baby. However, if there was one thing that this pregnancy has taught me is to be strong so I held on to that watch for dear life. Unbeknownst to me at the time, that watch became the symbol of what being a mother to this new baby was going to be.

My little guy is three years old today. He keeps me running round-the-clock. Being his mother has been the greatest joy and honor. Just like that first Valentine’s day, he keeps teaching me to be patient, persistent and to “hold on to his own timing.” It’s amazing how every child challenges you to be better.  For that and for more, that nine pound baby will forever be my best Valentine’s day gift!

As my family gets ready to celebrate Valentine’s day, we love to remember the story of that beautiful February 14th when baby boy was born. Recounting that story over and over again reminded me that it would be nice to replace my old watch. While browsing for a women’s watch, I discovered Jord Wood Watches.  The watches are not only gorgeous but functional as well. It was hard not to fell in love with this Cora Zebrawood & Rosé watch.

I love how my Jord woodwatch doesn’t cause irritation on my skin. It’s hand crafted from all natural wood. These cool watches are so elegant and can easily be combined with all type of clothing. Check out Jord collections for both men and women. By partnering with Jord, you can get $100 off your own unique watch.
