¡HOLA! I’M LINDA!
I AM MOM, WRITER, DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS PROFESSIONAL, AND ADVOCATE BASED IN SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH. I AM THE VOICE BEHIND HISPANIC MAMA: A CULTURE, FOOD, AND TRAVEL BLOG SHOWCASING MY PASSION FOR BILINGUALISM, CULTURAL AWARENESS AND MOTHERHOOD.

I was born and raised in Ecuador (guayaquileña madera de guerrera) but one day I met a boy and decided that I wanted to be with him para siempre.
After eight months of honeymooning in every hippie town of my home country, I moved to the United States with four suitcases, a masters program acceptance letter and a three-month old baby girl in my belly.
That was more than a decade ago.
Today I am a mom of three niños, work in digital communications for a national nonprofit organization, and spend what it feels like all my salary in collecting bilingual children’s books and planning cultural experiences for my kids.
There is something special, magical and intimate about teaching your language and culture to your children that is so fascinating to me. And that is precisamente why I love writing at Hispanic Mama.
ABOUT HISPANIC MAMA
Hispanic Mama is a space for Latina moms (and Latinas de corazón) raising bilingual and bicultural children while trying to preserve their heritage and language. I started this space in the fall of 2015 as a way to promote the excitement, the fun and the complexity of my bilingual and bicultural life.

In Hispanic Mama, you will find tips and recommendations in parenting, travel, bilingual resources and local events. Also, pieces about causes that I care deeply deeply about (¡porque unidos somos más!) and lots and lots of posts about Ecuador. (Because I miss la madre patria all the time!)

I have been featured on Latina Parents Magazine, Unidos US, MomsRising, Multicultural Kid Blogs, Raleigh Moms Blog, Familia Carolina, and others.
I serve as a board member for Diamante Inc., the oldest Latino/Hispanic Arts and Culture organization in North Carolina, El Centro Hispano, an organization strengthening the community, building bridges and advocating for equity and inclusion for Hispanics/Latinos in the Triangle Area of North Carolina, The Latino Educational Achievement Partnership, an organization that strives to empower Latino students in Durham to achieve academic success, Multicultural Kid Blogs, an online community dedicated to raising world citizens, and in the Mayor’s Hispanic Latino Committee in the City of Durham. I am also a member of an Advisory Board for PBS.
I am honored to be recognized as a Top Digital Influencer by Latinos in Tech Innovation and Social Media (LATISM). You can learn more about my mission and the inspiration behind of what I do in this interview.
