My Favorite App To Teach Children How To Read In English

Disclosure: I received this app for review purposes. All thoughts and ideas are strictly my own.

When my oldest child was learning how to read, her milestone helped me to realize that I needed to learn how to support her better. Several teacher friends offered great tips and suggestions and they all agreed that BOB books were what I needed.  Soon we discovered their app series and loved that they follow the same principles of their best seller books.

Bob Books Reading Magic-Sight Words is the newest addition to their series of apps for 3-5 year olds. This engaging and interactive app carefully introduces sight words through fun games that help kids with their sight word and spelling skills. Sight words tend to be challenging to recognize since many of them cannot be sounded out, but children can have fun learning 30 of the most common Kindergarten sight words with this application.

The four games are self explanatory and easy to understand. My five year old’s favorite game is the drag letters to spell game. The other games are: trace each letter in a word, spin letter dials to complete a word and read and drag sight words to complete a sentence.  We spend considerable time in the car with commutes and carpools so it is wonderful that this educational app can also entertain the kids with their colorful and interactive games. She gets very excited after completing a new word. This rewarding method gives children confidence with their reading efforts.

The stories are known to follow wholesome values and that definitely gives parents peace of mind since we don’t have to worry about any compromised content. The best of Reading Magic Sight-Sight Words is that the kids are having fun while learning to identify sight words!
